Look at this: just the latest in a series of my cheap shirts I have managed to wear through at the elbows. I promise I’m not usually this rough on my clothes. These are all cheap cotton shirts, and they just managed to wear out at their weakest point – right where my rough elbow skin hits my desk.
As a very amateurish sewer, I’m not sure how to fix them. I’m also not sure if I should bother. Most of these are from Old Navy or the thrift store. That purple one is at least 6 years old. But the frugal nutcase girl in me won’t let them go. I’ll be wearing them under sweaters while it’s still cold out, and once I’m digging my warm weather clothes out of storage, I’ll reconsider keeping them.
In the meantime, I will definitively try to change how I sit at my desk at work and put some extra lotion on my elbows.

That’s an interesting problem to have! I’ve never worn through elbows.
I honestly think the problem is two-fold: I have poor posture at my desk AND I have a lot of cheap clothing. slowly learning to better both situations there
